Teeth whitening is something that has become very popular here in the UK over the last 5 or 10 years and has opened up opportunities for innovative businesses to supply products and services for this niche market.

Personally, having bright white teeth is not something that has ever been a concern of mine and definitely not something I would spend money on, however a friend of mine recently purchased a home teeth-whitening kit that she absolutely loves - you can read the story of how she got whiter teeth here.

Anyhow, it got me thinking if there were any affiliate opportunities in this sectors and after a bit of digging I found that there were one or two companies that were offering referral fees in this sector.

The next thing to do is see how competitive the market is. I'm going to take a look a little on today and if I think it's viable, I may set up a mini-project creating, optimising and promoting a website or blog on the subject of how to get white teeth.

I thought it would be worth sharing this because I go through the same sort of process many times each week and it's basically how I make my money. The steps go something like:

1. I read about or someone talks to me about a product or service.
2. I investigate if there are affiliate opportunities in that particular sector.
3. I do a little keyword research / market research / competitor research in the niche.
4. If I think I can achieve good Google rankings in the niche, I set up a new project.

Of course, not all niches are profitable and some can be hard to rank for but these steps often save a lot of wasted time and effort. Some are hits and some are misses but the profits from the hits always outweigh the losses from the misses
