At the beginning of the year, I set a number of goals for myself, one of which was to donate 1% of my gross income to charity.
After some research, I decided to give to a little-known charity called BDF Newlife. They specialise in helping babies and children with birth defects as well as providing support and guidance to their parents.
Anyway, as the end of the year is approaching I decided to make my donation, so I forecast my total yearly income and calculated 1% of it before sending them the cash via their website.
Making the donation this month rather than next also helps with my accounting because it will show up on December's credit card statement rather than rolling over into 2008.
I can now happily tick off another of my goals for 2007
