Doubler Blogroll Tidy-Up

Just a quick update...

I've just finished tidying up my Doubling Blogroll (a list of links to other people working on 'Doubling Their Way To A Million').

This meant removing a few links to websites that haven't been updated in a long time or no longer work. If you're a Doubler and I've incorrectly deleted your link, let me know and I'll put it back. Also if your a new Doubler, let me have your details and add a link to you.

Doubling My Way to a Million Step 16 Part I

This series of articles was inspired by a wealth-building strategy created by Stuart Goldsmith. It is called 'Double Your way to a Million Plan' and you can sign up for your free copy on this webpage.

I've had quite a few incomings and outgoings over the previous week as I strive to 'Double My Way To A Million'. I'll start with the income...

Firstly, I've received £5 in advertising revenue from my website, W3WAD.COM. This is my first payment from this idea and is only about a sixth of what I've spent on advertising on it, however I'm confident that in the long run it will become profitable.

I've also received £3 from clicking banners and links in emails over a three month period using 'Paid-To-Click' website Archerfish. I found clicking links to be very tedious and time-consuming and not really worth the effort, so I've decided not to continue down this avenue of profiteering. Despite this, I think Archerfish is one of the best websites for those that like that sort of thing.

And I've also received another payment from cashback website RPoints - £5 this time. All the cash I've earned from RPoints (around £30 in all) has been from completing free offers.

Finally, I found a penny on the pavement as I walked down the street.

So, that's an income of £13.01. Now, let's take a look at expenditure...

I spent a further £5.30 on advertising W3WAD.COM's Cashback Website Comparison Matrix. As I said earlier, this expense will hopefully pay for itself over the long term.

I also spent £5.80 on stationary (printer paper and a box file) which will be used in my latest money-making idea - more on that soon :)

Doubling My Way to a Million Step 15 Part II

This series of articles was inspired by a wealth-building strategy created by Stuart Goldsmith. It is called 'Double Your way to a Million Plan' and you can sign up for your free copy on this webpage.

This week, I've been doing a lot of planning and preparation for a business idea that my wife and I thought up (more about that at a later date) so I haven't been actively out there increasing my Doubling Pot. Meanwhile, as luck would have it, I've received a couple of payments from ideas I started a while back and are just beginning to pay off.

First up is the 'Bum Marketing Method' I experimented with back in July. In essence, this involved writing articles about certain topics and submitting them to article databases where they ranked well with search engines. Included in each article was an affiliate link to a relevant product, the idea being that people interested in a particular topic would find my article, click the link and buy the product resulting in a commission for myself. Last week, I received my first cheque from the affiliate network (ClickBank) for $91.54 USD. After fees and currency conversion, this came out at £44.63.

And secondly, is my first interest payment for the 'Stoozing' idea I tried out last month. This money-making method involves borrowing interest-free money from credit cards, sticking it in a bank account and earning interest on the borrowed cash. I received £3.04 interest from my Alliance + Leicester Premier Direct Account this month plus an additional 17p interest from my Egg Money account (even though Egg only had the cash for a few days when it was in transit).

So it would seem previous endeavours are beginning to pay off! I'm now up to £174.59 and have therefore completed Step 15 of my Doubling Plan. As always, anything in excess of the step's target (£160 for Step 15) is removed from the Doubling Pot and put into my pocket so that's £14.59 for me :)

I'm expecting a few more payments very soon from work I've done in the past, however because the amount of money between targets increases I feel I need to be looking at new ideas and strategies that will be more profitable than those previous.

Something is in the pipeline but there's still a bit of work to be done first...

Doubling My Way to a Million Step 15 Part I

This series of articles was inspired by a wealth-building strategy created by Stuart Goldsmith. It is called 'Double Your way to a Million Plan' and you can sign up for your free copy on this webpage.

Remember a month or two ago when I opened an A+L Premier Direct Current Account to horde my Doubling earnings? Well, I just received the £50 cashback for opening it from Quidco (a cashback website) and added it to my Doubling Fund.

Also this week, I spent £3.25 on marketing my money-making advice website W3WAD.COM (incidentally, you can compare a host of cashback websites like Quidco using W3WAD.COM's Cashback Website Comparison Matrix).

So now I'm more than halfway through step 15 of my 'Double Your Way to a Million' project. I'm going to be cashing a couple of cheques I've received soon, however they're in US Dollars, so I'm not sure exactly how much it will cost to cash them and how long it will take. Hopefully, though, they should take me up to step 16.

Woo-hoo! I'm halfway through my 'Double to a Million Plan'! I've received a further £3.75 cashback from RPoints taking my total so far to £81.83.

As per the rules, I must take any excess of the target for myself, so that's £1.83 that's mine to keep.

At this rate, I'll be a millionaire by this time next year :)

BDF NewLife Goal Complete

BDF New Life

At the beginning of the year, I set a number of goals for myself, one of which was to donate 1% of my gross income to charity.

After some research, I decided to give to a little-known charity called BDF Newlife. They specialise in helping babies and children with birth defects as well as providing support and guidance to their parents.

Anyway, as the end of the year is approaching I decided to make my donation, so I forecast my total yearly income and calculated 1% of it before sending them the cash via their website.

Making the donation this month rather than next also helps with my accounting because it will show up on December's credit card statement rather than rolling over into 2008.

I can now happily tick off another of my goals for 2007 :)

Doubling My Way To A Million Step 14 Part XI

I'm now just a few quid off completing step 14 of my Doubling Plan and hoping to get there within the next week. Meanwhile, there's a few updates to tell you about.

Firstly, the stoozing plan I spoke of in my previous post is ticking along nicely. I've now got £2000 of interest-free borrowed cash sitting in my current account and earning me interest. Coincidently, on the same day it entered my account, I got my first credit card statement from Ulster Bank through the post requesting a minimum payment of £66. Fortunately it's not due until the 24th of November, so I'll sit on the cash a bit longer before paying it :)

Secondly, I've received a cheque from Treasure Trooper for $33.85 USD, which equates to about 15 quid in real money. The bad news is that it's going to cost me money to pay it into my current - £10 from A+L or £5 from Lloyds TSB. This was an oversight by myself. I didn't expect there would be a charge for paying in cheques in a foreign currency. I thought that Treasure Trooper would send me a cheque in Sterling anyway. An oversight by myself, but never mind. I guess I'll have to decide whether it's still worth cashing!

Thirdly, I've been paid £7.68 cashback by RPoints (a British company dealing in British money).

And finally, I've found 6p of real money, while out on my travels.
